Solution Overview

for

Public owners / contracting authorities, Private developers
Insurance brokers and property risk engineering teams

Extreme weather is intensifying, yet most buildings and infrastructure are still not designed or adapted to withstand it. Existing climate-risk tools identify exposure but rarely explain what must physically change in a specific asset. Developers, owners, insurers and lenders still rely on expensive consulting processes that can take months and often deliver lengthy reports after key design decisions are already locked. As a result, risks remain unmitigated, assets become harder to insure and finance, and organizations face avoidable damage, business interruption and costly retrofits.

Our Solution:

METTIS is a resilience digital twin for buildings and infrastructure. A user enters an address and uploads available plans; within minutes, the platform combines climate models, GIS data, engineering codes and underwriting standards to show exactly how extreme weather could affect each building system. It then generates prioritized, site-specific design and retrofit actions, including what to change, where, why, expected cost and risk reduction. Instead of waiting months for a static consulting report, developers, asset owners and insurers receive an auditable action plan they can use immediately to protect the asset, support financing and strengthen insurability.

How it works:

Most climate-risk tools stop at exposure scores, maps, or static reports. METTIS goes further by translating risk into asset-specific decisions: which building components are vulnerable, what should change, where the intervention is needed, and which actions deliver the greatest risk reduction.
Its uniqueness lies in combining climate models, geospatial data, engineering codes, building information and underwriting requirements within one auditable vertical-AI platform. The result is not a generic recommendation, but a prioritized resilience plan tailored to the site and the assetтАЩs actual systems.

Site-specific climate risk into actionable design, retrofit, and resilience measures for all assets

Classification & Use Cases

Lifecycle stage(s) addressed:

Planning & design (BIM, design tools, permitting, simulation, etc), Asset & facility management (smart building tech, CMMS, predictive maintenance, tenant experience), ESG & sustainability (carbon tracking, LCA, energy optimization, circularity)
Fintech / Insurtech, Acquisition, underwriting, insurance renewal, and retrofit planning

Core technology types:

AI / machine learning, Cloud / SaaS platform
Geospatial intelligence, GIS, and climate-risk analytics
Key use cases in practice:
METTIS has already been applied in pilots with a Municipality and a major infrastructure organization. In practice, the platform assesses site-specific climate risks, identifies vulnerable building and infrastructure systems, and generates prioritized resilience actions. Key use cases include early-stage planning, insurance and risk-engineering support, portfolio screening, and retrofit prioritization.
