Solution Overview

for

Public owners / contracting authorities, Private developers, General contractors, Designers / engineers / consultants, Investors / lenders

The construction industry still relies on destructive testing and 28-day lab curing cycles to assess concrete resistance тАФ methods that are slow, costly, and disconnected from actual field conditions. Without real-time data, project teams make critical structural decisions based on estimates rather than evidence, leading to delays, rework, and safety risks. In post-tensioned slabs, pavements, and large-scale infrastructure, the inability to determine the precise moment a structure reaches target resistance causes significant productivity losses and increases project costs.

Our Solution:

The construction industry still relies on destructive testing and 28-day lab curing cycles to assess concrete resistance тАФ methods that are slow, costly, and disconnected from real field conditions. Without real-time data, teams make critical decisions based on estimates, not evidence, leading to delays, rework, and material waste.
Beyond efficiency, the problem runs deeper. Construction remains one of the least digitalized and inclusive industries globally. Physical demands and knowledge gatekeeping have historically excluded women from key site roles. Meanwhile, over-conservative curing timelines increase unnecessary concrete use and carbon footprint тАФ working against circular economy principles.
IoT Provoleta┬о addresses all of this: replacing guesswork with data, reducing waste through precision, and lowering the barriers that have long made construction an unequal space. Smarter construction is more sustainable and more inclusive.

How it works:

IoT Provoleta┬о is the only Argentinian solution combining reusable IoT hardware with a cloud platform for real-time concrete maturity monitoring, fully compliant with ASTM C1074 and CIRSOC 200:2024.

By replacing manual testing with continuous remote monitoring, it reduces waste, improves efficiency, and has helped clients cut concrete stage times by up to 20% and post-tensioning times by 25%.

Beyond performance, IoT Provoleta┬о makes construction more accessible by replacing physical effort and subjective decision-making with data, supporting greater inclusion of women and young professionals on worksites.

Classification & Use Cases

Lifecycle stage(s) addressed:

Construction execution (field management, robotics, drones, logistics, site monitoring, QA/QC, safety), ESG & sustainability (carbon tracking, LCA, energy optimization, circularity), Project management

Core technology types:

AI / machine learning, IoT / sensors / hardware (smart devices), Cloud / SaaS platform
Key use cases in practice:
Infrastructure: IoT Provoleta┬о was deployed at two major Argentine airport infrastructure projects: C├│rdoba International Airport (PILCA S.A.) and Buenos Aires International Airport (Aeropuertos Argentina 2000). In both cases, fast-track concrete pavements required precise determination of the sawcutting window тАФ a critical and technically complex parameter that conventional methods struggle to define accurately. IoT Provoleta┬о applied the maturity method to monitor resistance evolution in real time directly within the concrete slab, eliminating dependence on lab-cured specimens. Results showed that maturity-based estimates were more representative of actual field conditions than traditional probetas, which presented high variability due to surface-to-volume differences. A reference sawcutting point of IM = 260 ┬░C┬╖hour was established at C├│rdoba and replicated successfully across subsequent pours, delivering clean cuts with zero cracking damage across all monitored slabs
Buildings: Slab Stripping Optimization IoT Provoleta┬о monitored concrete slabs and beams at two building projects: Cardenal Newman School (contractor: PACK, Buenos Aires) and a residential building by Constructora San Agust├нn (Neuqu├йn). In both cases, real-time resistance data via PROVO24x7 confirmed that stripping resistance targets were reached days ahead of the originally planned schedule тАФ reducing timelines by up to 75%. At the school project, formwork was removed on day 5 instead of day 21, saving 16 days per pour cycle. San Agust├нn reported complete elimination of lab specimen preparation on site, faster formwork rotation, reduced shoring rental costs, and greater confidence in structural decisions. Both clients highlighted measurable improvements in planning efficiency and workflow, with no compromise to concrete quality or structural safety.
