Solution Overview
for
A large share of the world’s built infrastructure тАФ offshore structures, bridges, harbors, dams and other concrete assets тАФ is now approaching or has passed its designed lifetime. Owners face a costly challenge: keeping ageing concrete safe and in service without knowing what’s inside it.
Today’s inspection methods are largely unchanged in decades. They rely on manual, time-consuming fieldwork that requires specialized operators, disrupts operations, and often can’t determine basic facts тАФ such as exact reinforcement diameter, depth, or spacing тАФ with real precision. The result: slow, costly inspections based on incomplete data, forcing conservative, expensive repair decisions.
Birdsview combines AI with advanced GPR sensors to see inside concrete without breaking it, turning scan data into accurate 3D models of the structure and its reinforcement тАФ giving owners and engineers the precise information needed to extend infrastructure life safely and sustainably.
Our Solution:
Birdsview’s product combines a proprietary 3D-tracked GPR sensor with AI software that automatically processes scans into detailed 3D models of concrete structures, showing reinforcement, cover depth and other embedded elements тАФ without drilling or coring. In practice, an operator moves the sensor across the surface; the system tracks its position in real time and the software reconstructs the internal structure into a model that engineers can use directly for assessment, documentation and BIM integration.
Customers can access this in three ways: as an annual subscription including both the hardware and software needed to scan in-house; as a pilot, letting customers trial the technology on a real structure before committing; or as a fully managed service, where Birdsview’s own trained structural and field engineers carry out the scanning and deliver the resulting models and reports directly to the customer.
How it works:
What sets Birdsview apart is how much of the traditional inspection workflow it removes. The system automatically analyzes, processes and visualizes results, with no specialist needed to interpret raw radar signals. Results are ready directly in the field, enabling on-site decisions.
The tool is simple enough that anyone can scan, removing a major bottleneck for scaling inspections. Results are automatically positioned in a 3D point cloud that’s BIM-ready, plugging into existing digital workflows.
Most importantly, Birdsview is the only solution that delivers exact reinforcement diameter with millimeter precision тАФ a level of accuracy no other GPR or NDT method can currently match.

Core technology types:
Key use cases in practice:
Pre-drilling rebar mapping тАФ locating exact reinforcement position and cover depth before renovation, retrofit, or cutting into existing concrete, avoiding accidental damage.
Construction QA тАФ verifying reinforcement placement on new or recently built structures and documenting as-built conditions directly into BIM.
Portfolio-wide condition surveys тАФ helping municipalities, utilities, and infrastructure operators prioritize maintenance budgets across many assets using real data instead of age-based assumptions.
Pre-purchase / due diligence inspections тАФ assessing structural condition of concrete assets (e.g. buildings, parking structures) as part of property or infrastructure transactions.

Impact & SDGs
Contribution to any of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals:
SDG 11 тАУ Sustainable Cities and Communities Ageing infrastructure threatens the safety of cities and communities. Birdsview helps owners protect and extend the life of essential structures, reducing the risk of failures and disruption to transport and public services, while enabling faster, better-informed maintenance decisions.
SDG 12 тАУ Responsible Consumption and Production Rather than defaulting to demolition and rebuilding, Birdsview lets owners assess real concrete condition and extend usable life тАФ reducing consumption of cement and steel and construction waste, while eliminating destructive core sampling of otherwise sound structures.
SDG 13 тАУ Climate Action Concrete production is carbon-intensive, and demolition/rebuilding emits far more than maintaining existing structures. By enabling life-extension over premature replacement, Birdsview directly reduces emissions tied to new construction.
SDG 7 тАУ Affordable and Clean Energy: Helps extend the life of dams and offshore energy infrastructure, supporting reliable clean power.
